Finding my passion was a real challenge for me. It took me almost 2 years to understand my interests. After fitting in with a master’s degree in Finance and a comfortable job in one of the top 5 banks and found myself stuck, literally. It wasn’t a question of how much I was making or how glad my parents and friends were but more how unhappy I was. I remember going back home after my 9-5 and play around for hours on how to create a website and trying to figure out my way. Those 5 ways I hope will let you find your passion like they helped me.

N°1 Find what you hate

As weird as it sounds, it’s easier to know what you don’t like than what you like! Grab a piece of paper (real paper, not your computer), writing this onto paper will help you bring it to life and clear your mind. Once done your passion may become more clear.

N°2 Think about what you used to love

It’s probably easier to think about what you used to love as a child. Because you didn’t have to fit in during your childhood you were pretty much-doing activities that you enjoyed. So think about those times and try them now! The key here is to find activities, hobbies or memories before life got in the way.

N°3 Follow your curiosity

Even if you didn’t find your passion yet you may be curious about things. You should pay a particular attention to your curiosity because it’s when your true self is speaking. It matters also because you are using your own motivation to try this activity. Ever experienced spending your night on how to create a wood table or edit a video? Often times it will be things that you didn’t expect or don’t see a way to make money out of it. However when thinking about these interest I want you to not think about money, so just ask yourself, if money wasn’t a concern would you be doing it?

When I started creating websites I didn’t see a way to make a living but I asked myself, do I enjoy this interest (money aside)? Ended up helping people unleash their passions!

N°4 When you have time what do you do?

What do you do when you come back from your 9-5? Do you watch Netflix? Do you scroll facebook? For sure you do something back home even if it’s for 10min, for some it will be drawing and for others, it will be Sudoku. Again don’t think about money, ask yourself what do you enjoy doing after home.

Finally, the only one thing that will tell you what is your passion is if you try. Don’t get me wrong, it’s the most difficult part, but it’s a step that you will have to overcome because you don’t know where it will lead you. Would you rather spend the rest of your life doing something you hate or take 1h of your time and go to this Yoga class? When I was right where you are I use to go to Meetups. It’s an app to find activities and people around and it’s often free. Just give it a go!

Let’s unleash your passion!
